C0-Founder & Managing Director

Alisha has over 20 years of experience in HR, working alongside growing organizations to help leaders navigate the real challenges that come with managing people—compliance, tough conversations, and building teams that actually work.

She started Build Your Roots HR after seeing how overwhelming HR can feel for small business owners who are trying to do the right thing without a dedicated HR team. Her goal is to make HR feel more approachable, practical, and aligned with how your business actually operates.

Alisha is especially passionate about helping leaders feel confident in their decisions and building workplaces where both the business and its people can thrive.

Outside of work, you’ll find her near the water or spending time with her family and her dog, Carlos

ASHLEY BRADBURY

Co-Founder & Executive Director

Ashley has been in the HR industry for more than 14 years. Her first role is where she met Alisha. She instantly loved recruitment, making connections with people and hearing others' stories. Outside of work time, she loves to be on the water. Ashley is passionate about the opportunity to get to know your organization, your personal motivations and goals, and how she can help create a strong foundation of employees to take you to the next level.

JENNA OBRYCKI UPGREN

Benefits Specialist

Jenna has worked in the benefits space for over 10 years. She has extensive experience and knowledge in health and welfare, benefit strategy, compliance and benefit system set up/ troubleshooting. She has worked with a variety of companies such as HealthEast Care System, Medtronic, and Bind Benefits. Jenna is excited to utilize her extensive knowledge and help companies with their benefit needs!

Whitney Surdick

HR Consultant

Whitney brings a people-first approach to HR, supporting growing businesses with their day-to-day HR needs and helping teams operate more smoothly.

At Build Your Roots HR, she works closely with clients to assist with employee relations, HR processes, payroll support, and ongoing people operations. Whitney is known for her organization, responsiveness, and ability to build strong relationships with both leaders and employees.

She enjoys helping businesses create a positive work environment where both the team and the organization can thrive.
